Integrating Wordpress posts
« on: June 05, 2018, 04:45:40 PM »
Hello,

I have installed a Wordpress blog on my site /blog (where osDateevo1.3 is in the root). I would like to show the 3 to 5 latest blog posts on the homepage (before a user logs in). Has anyone figured out a simply solution to make this happen? I thought this page offered a start https://codex.wordpress.org/Integrating_WordPress_with_Your_Website but I am having a problem integrating it into the dating script.

Thanks.

It looks like integrating with Wordpress (as per the wordpress.org link) will not work for osDate. This is because there are conflicts in variable names in both scripts. For example both Wordpress and osDate name the database as 'DB_NAME', and when I debugged the Wordpress code, I noticed that the osDate database name was being pulled in - which caused other issues with being able to load the WP headers. There are probably other naming conflicts.

Hi arievaul,

In that case, couldn't you just install the wordpress database into the osDateEvo database, this should then stop
the conflict shouldn't it?

Hi,

As Pharg says, you should just need to install Wordpress into the osDate database and it will use the same database details.
I have never intergrated osDate and Wordpress.

If you get any error messages please post them up, so we can look at them.
They maybe in an error_log or error.log file.
