Create new page
« on: January 23, 2018, 04:14:35 AM »
Hello Pharg,
Thanks for your quick reply. But I can not get that out, probably I'm too stupid. I've created a page, NEWPAGE, but the link text is not visible in the footer. I've tried everything but that's not possible, why is that? I have to learn it somehow. Thanks for your help. Please take a look at the pictures!
Best regards Tua

Hi Tua,

You have done everything correct, it should be showing just fine.

Only thing I can think of is to make sure your editing the correct templates footer.tpl file.

If the template your using is FreshDate then you need to find the FreshDate footer.tpl file, it's a easy mistake to edit the default one, when it should be the FreshDate ;)

Hi Tua,

I just spotted why your newpage link isn't showing.

Change this:
Code: [Select]
{lang mkey='site_links' skey='newpage'}
to this just words,as there is no word code yet.
Code: [Select]
Newpage
The new page doesn't have NewPage word in the language files yet, you will have to add them later if you need to or just leave it like this, up to you.

Hello Pharg,
You're really fast with your answer. I did it that way but I do not know if that's right. I use the template Freshdate and also the footer.tpl
where do I have to change exactly this: {lang mkey='site_links' skey='newpage'} and where do I have to enter the page in the language file English and German exactly? Look at the pictures and thank you for your help.

Hi Tua,

It's in the 2 links in the footer.tpl.

<a href='newpage.html' class='footlink' title='faq'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='newpage'}</a> &nbsp;&nbsp;

<a href='index.php?page=newpage' class='footlink' title='faq'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='newpage'}</a>

Change to NewPage.

Hi Tua,

If you want the NewPage to have a name in both German and English you will have to had them to both languages in the lang_main.php files.

First you have to decide what the Page is going to be called before adding it to the lang_main.php files, once you tell me wht your naming it' I will show you how to add the New Name to the lang_main.php.

What is the page name going to be?

I did that here is the link

 <a href='newpage.html' class='footlink'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='NewPage'}</a> &nbsp;

 <a href='index.php?page=newpage' class='footlink'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='NewPage'}</a> &nbsp;

no text in the footer. I do not know what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Tua,

You have to change the links names like this for now.

 <a href='newpage.html' class='footlink'>NewPage</a> &nbsp;

 <a href='index.php?page=newpage' class='footlink'>NewPage</a> &nbsp;

You can't have this {lang mkey='site_links' skey='NewPage'} in yet as there is no name to call for.

I have the link inserted and it works.
This system I have only to test if I can then I can also create new page in the current system. The page should get the name PARTNER

<a href='newpage.html' class='footlink'> NewPage </a> & nbsp;

Hi Tua,

I noticed a small error, fix this & nbsp; must be like this &nbsp;  no gaps or spaces in the code.

To add Partner to the lang_main.php you must open the English and the German files so you can add this.

Edit the English file and add this:
Code: [Select]
$lang['npartner'] = 'Partner';

Edit the German and add this:
Code: [Select]
$lang['npartner'] = 'Partner'; In German Translate

Now go to the admin, then the Manage Languages and load the English and the German.

Now you go to the footer.tpl and add the new Partner links

Code: [Select]
<a href='partner.html' class='footlink' title='faq'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='npartner'}</a>
Code: [Select]
<a href='index.php?page=partner' class='footlink' title='faq'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='npartner'}</a>
That's it all done, now you have to fill in the Partner page.

Hi Tua,

Don't forget to do the SEO .htaccess Rewrite for the new link or the link won't work.

Code: [Select]
RewriteRule ^partner.html$ index.php?page=partner

Hello Pharg,
thank you very much for your help, you are really great and very fast, thanks!

<a href='partner.html' class='footlink'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='partner'}</a> &nbsp;&nbsp;
<a href='index.php?page=partner' class='footlink' title='faq'>{lang mkey='site_links' skey='partner'}</a>

htaccess.
RewriteRule ^partner.html$ index.php?page=partner

Lang_main English and German
'partner' => 'Partner',

Everything works perfectly, thanks. That was really hard for me but now I'm glad that I can create pages. Thanks again for your help and patience.

Best regards, Tua
