Hi,

I have installed the fresh date template and what a great template, worth every cent  :) For now I have only done the first step on the install guide so I could get a feel for the look etc.

I have included the above as it might or might not have any relevance to the issue that I am having but this is the first time I have created a new user (I'm now in full testing mode), so the issue is when signing up as a new member and going through the sign up process after you have got to the last page (page 5 I think) there is no confirmation profile created message, so you keep clicking submit in an infinite loop.  If you click home then it takes you to the profile that you created.

Not a bug as such but a nice message saying profile created etc.

Hi Rob79,

Because that's not our template you must get help for it from the FreshDate templates site sorry and yes it is
a nice template, it does take a bit of getting use to and very different to the standard templates.

Best way to find out if it's the template or not is to try the same in a standard template.

Hi Pharg,

Thanks for the reply, I did some more testing and changed back to the default template, so when creating a new profile there is red text that appears saying profile has been created but you can still click through the submit pages in a loop, now whether this text appeared in the new fresh template and I did not see it I'm not sure; I will need to do more testing. It appears that the issue still remains, would it not be good practice to return the user to his/her profile once it has been completed?

Also I found another one for you, you will like this one.  When I created a new profile using the default template the confirmation email did not come through, checked the obvious email add etc. plus this had been working fine, so I thought I would try and log in anyway and this worked, so somehow I have bypassed the email authorisation.

Carrying on from above it is now coming up with the message There is no user available with the given parameter, when I click profile.

Hi Rob79,

I added some code to make members fill in the profile, because you will find to many members don't them fill in which makes a website rather dull for other members wanting to read something about someone in their profile, this tends to make members not come back to your site if they have nothing to read or look up about a potential date or match

The code that does this is in here:
https://www.osdateforum.com/osdateevo-configuration-installation/edit-my-profile-preferences/msg8387/?topicseen#new

You can either remove it or like someone else lower the number of things to fill in.
I am going to look at improving this code by trying to fix the Next question bit the stops at the end, however this
has always looped back to the first question in all versions right back to the original developers. It has never just said finished editing as such.

As far as I know, you can still login, but you can't do anything because the account has to be confirmed and activated before you can access anything else inside.

Hi Pharg,

I have tried to replicate this several times now but I can't.  The only thing I have done different is not change the template from to default to Fresh.  I'm going to be spending some considerable time over the next month or so on a nightly basis testing, I will compile a list then go though the forum to see if they already have been noted, and will share my findings.  I also have come across the language issues but have seen this issue already posted under another topic.

Thanks,

Rob.

Hi Rob79,

No worries, just make sure the list hasn't already been touched on.

The languages seem to always have issues, less now than there use to be though.
What members have to be reminded is, that these were translated by google translator so there are bound to be spelling errors plus some wrong translations etc.

I just was looking at the submit questions and I had forgotten that when it's filled in that
when it takes you back to the start in the profile it says Your profile modifications are completed.

While doing this I also founds some errors in the menu, just typos will post later.

Hi Rob79,

I found what causes this and it is when your using a Un-Comfirmed Not Active Membership, when you try to look at your own profile, all it shows is There is no user available with the given parameter

Hi Pharg,

Thanks for finding the feature I thought I was going mad as I couldn't replicate the issue.

I have been doing some small changes to web layout colour and style, so I have not had the chance to do some real testing; I had to change hosts so I am now installing a fresh copy again, will be up and running soon.

I have a local copy wamp, and my ultimate aim is to setup a dedicated Linux box, but as you know this all takes time.

Your work is very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob.
