frontend not writing into database
« on: June 19, 2018, 11:22:43 PM »
Hi,
I have problems with the front-end. The signup is not working, and so is changing some data from existing users.

It has something to do with writing in the database. I can change all settings from admin, and change user information as a user. But not from the change-profile page.

Server type: MySQL
Server version: 5.7.22
PHP-version: 7.0.27-0+deb9u1

I have tried several users and privileges on mysql.

There is nothing in the mysql error log.
I receive the signup email confirmation.

Hi Bart,

Sorry to hear your having more issues.

It's possible that the database has crashed at some stage which will cause this problem.

I am sure it's something to do with the hosting server your using maybe.

We have had sites running for a long time and have never had all these issue you seem to get but I did get a database crash once
caused by the hosting company.

By the way, osDateEvo v1.3 doesn't use mysql it's suppose to be set to mysqli in the config.php just so you know.

Hi Bart,

I just thought of the more than likely reason your members can't do anything is that they have expired.

Look in the admin area for expired memberships.

If they are expired, you will have to activate them again.

I have noticed most people only give 30 days membership, once it expires they can't change anything on the front-side.

Free memberships should be set to life with limited things they can do so it encourages them to upgrade for more
options.
