osDateEvo Tips & Tricks / Able to send message to any member
« Last post by srikanth555 on June 23, 2018, 07:45:57 AM »
Can anybody help me with this situation.
I have a situation where gold or Silver members can send messages to any members irrespective  of weather they are in the friends list or not of the receiver.. An option which we have in osdate 2.5.
In Evo We first have to send the friend request and if the member accepts the request then the user can send messages but in my case I dont want this friend request scenario.Simply able to send messages to anybody based on the packages.
Hi srikanth555,

Your welcome, yes the scrollingGallery.php was also removed as it didn't work well with our updates.

Finally My Site is up and running.
Thanks a lot again

osDateEvo Bugs / osDateEvo v1.3 Signup error caused by HoneyPot database missing
« Last post by Pharg on June 21, 2018, 12:00:56 AM »
Hi Members,

If anyone is getting this error from the signup ( Register ) page?
Notice: Undefined index: mod_honeypot in /home2/emoyer70/ on line 49

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home2/emoyer70/ in /home2/emoyer70/ on line 801

This is being caused by the honeypod mod missing in the Database.

Fix is easy, just import the below honeypot.sql into your database and that's it, all done.

Make sure first, your database prefix name is the osdate_ if not you will have to edit the honeypot.sql and make the database prefix name the same as yours.

I have fixed the main installer as it was missing from the full install of osDateEvo v1.3.

Sorry for any inconvenience it may have caused.
Hi srikanth555,

Your getting that error because we had to remove that pluginBackup plugin because of a possible security risk to your database.

You need to uninstall it and remove the pluginBackup from the database and remove it from the plugins.

If your not sure how, let me know.
Hey Pharg!
Did all the steps as per the instructions but I have got this error. Can you please guide me resolving this issue.
I have tried installing Evo 1.3 directly in other directory it is working fine. But If I upgrade then Its erroring out.

This is what I get when I open my website
Call to undefined method pluginBackup::modPlugin() in /home/content/XX/X40XXX80/html/matri1.3/plugins/pluginBackup/libs/pluginBackup.php on line 129

osDateEvo Bugs / Re: frontend not writing into database

Hi Bart,

I just thought of the more than likely reason your members can't do anything is that they have expired.

Look in the admin area for expired memberships.

If they are expired, you will have to activate them again.

I have noticed most people only give 30 days membership, once it expires they can't change anything on the front-side.

Free memberships should be set to life with limited things they can do so it encourages them to upgrade for more

Hi magnummac59,

Thanks for that, it would be great if you can share to the members so if they want to use gmail then
they can follow your instructions on how to set it up.

We are trying to use osDateEvo to provide more communications to users with mail.

Does EVO use the native smtp mail in the unix kernel?

Yes it does it uses sendmail postfix or smtp. I use gmail as my email servr it is just an easier config for me and it always woks. Let me know if you need instructions on how to set it up on your server.
