I found the spot where to change the Age range in "Site's Global Settings" > under "Site Information" - my version is 2.6.5. For some of the older versions, looks like, you can find it under: "Site Settings".

But you know what? I've changed the ranges there to see what happens. And the change hasn't propagated. I've refreshed the site etc. Still didn't see the updates at all: it still shows the old values for the age range I had set before.

Is there anything else we need to know? Any other way to make such modifications? What file, under what directory?

Thanks!

In the admin panel global settings change -16 to -18

Hey Pharg,

Most definitely, Global Settings in Admin worked for me - when I wanted to change the default age range. But I'm trying to that now and it's NOT working. The changes aren't propagating, even after a refresh.

Is there another, more 'manual' way to specify the Age Range values?
...unless it's a bug of some sort and maybe, I should be submitting it on 'osDate Future update' page - as an issue

Thanks a lot!

Hi niceberg,

Your using osdate v2.6 aren't you?
What version PHP are you running it on please?

It's only works fine on PHP 5.2 anything higher and you will get errors.

My osDate is v2.6.5. I'm running it on PHP 5.3. I tried PHP 5.2 and 5.4 just now - to see if it'll do it. Refreshed the tables: still - same issue  :(

Which file is responsible for setting the AgeRange? Is it tied to a particular *.tpl file?
- making that change from my Admin panel (Global Settings) didn't propagate it

Thanks, Pharg.

Hi,

Give this a try delete all files and folders in
temp/templates_c/

If that still doesn't work

Delete the files and folders from
temp/cache/

If that doesn't work
Delete both folders at the same time

After each try, be such to close your web browser and re-open it from fresh

Hi niceberg,

OsDate v2.6 works best in PHP 5.2 and osDate v2.6.5  in PHP 5.4 They were made to work in two different PHP Versions.

The age is in the admin panel global settings, change the  -16 to -18 and save as scvoyager said to do, if you can't work it out then
PM me your site and admin details etc?

Hi niceberg,

I have double checked the answer that was given and it's was only part of the answer, Sorry for the misunderstanding.

There are two settings to change, the one you want in the search to change is the
Default value for start age range in quick search: change from 16 to 18 and
the other one was part of your answer being
End value in year of birth date field: change from -16 to -18

As you can see in the pic  ;D

Yes, it worked, Pharg! Changing bot values in "age range" as well as " birth date" did it.
Thanks for checking into it. Really appreciate it.
