Membership Level Message Problem
« on: February 20, 2015, 06:19:03 AM »
Hi Phil,

I have Gold Membership set to 100 messages per day,

This member has sent 3 messages today, and is now getting: You have exceeded number of messages allowed for your membership level.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Hi Burton,

No idea sorry, I just tried to recreate it on mine and no problems.

Is it possible that you changed something in the code somewhere ?

Hi Phil,

Thank you for trying to re-create this problem.

I have not made any code changes, but!

Today was the 1st and only time I checked - Tell me when the Message has been read - & - Send Profile with Message

So I do not know if that created a problem,

I will wait until tomorrow and see if the daily messaging has been re-set.

I will update when I know more :)

Hi Burton,

ok no worries, this is the very first time ever in 10 years I have ever seen anyone get this, I think
there might be a corrupt file in your system maybe.

Please post a screenshot pick of your membership settings so I can see if is set ok?

Hi Burton,

This is what I normally have and it's layout is different also not that should make a difference.
Is your one a new custom Gold Membership level?

I will reply back as soon as I know more :)   your help greatly appreciated.

An update

Time did not fix the problem, still no messages could be sent after 2 days waiting.

So I deleted the member, re-registered the member, and now all is working fine again :)

I also removed the code for "Notify Email has been read" and "Attach Profile to email"

Hi Burton,

I still don't see this as a script error or problem as nobody else has reported the same thing.

Are you sure it wasn't a email issue on your host service or email account?
The reason I say this is why would it start working just by deleting a member, that's not a script error!

Hi Phil,

It was only the 1 member that had the problem, and the problem with that member only happened after using "Email me when message has been read" and "Attach Profile"

So I deleted that 1 member, then re-registered them, then their profile was sending messages again fine,

Don't know why ...lol

Just had to fix it, so I deleted and re-registered :)

Strange ... but true :)

PS:  1 question, is there a limit to the number of characters/words that can be send in a message or reply?

Hi Burton,

No there no limit in the messages or replies.

You can add a limit or word counting limit if it's needed.
