Checking version number and updating
« on: January 14, 2017, 07:59:05 PM »
Hello - it has been a long time since I last was involved with osDate on my website (www.HarmoniousPartners.com). I think I have v2.53, but I am not sure. Is there a reliable way for me to determine what version I actually do have?

Then what is the best way to determine if I need to update to any future version. Apparently there are these later versions:
2.5.4, 2.6, 2.6.5, osDateEvo v1.0

Can anyone suggest what I might be able to upgrade to without making my current website a mess? I have made various custom changes and would hate to lose those.

And is my understanding correct that Evo is simply just a responsive version of osDate.

Thank you.

Hi aedwall303,

That one you have looks like osDate v2.6 but I could be wrong.

Login to the admin and in the stats it say what version it is.

If it is osDate v2.53 then download attachement zip file it's has all the patches you will need up to v2.6
then you will need to use the osDateEvo upgrade.

Backup your files and database first before doing any patches and upgrade!

Yes it is, but there is a lot more to it than just that.

Evo just stands for Evolution and so others don't mix up the versions ;)

Thank you.

In my Admin Panel, it says Welcome Administrator, then under Site Statistics, the version says 4.0.1, which correlates to nothing I can see.

Also, you mention an attachment - what and where?

Also, my website is running PHP v5.4, so it is "confusing" to me that you say osDate v2.53 won't run on PHP v5.4. Well, occasionally I do see SQL queries that should not appear. But all the main stuff seems to work with no visible problems.

So, when all is said and done, I just need the Evo UPGRADE and I will be up to date with everything (since my version is apparently v2.6.5).

Thank you.
