Flashchat support
« on: July 21, 2014, 07:38:20 PM »
Are their any places that you know of that are offering flash chat support, as I know flash chat had a lot of problems, and it seems to me we need to have a site that is doing the same thing here with osdate  only with flash chat, after all when you think about it, it really does not make to much sense to have a chat loaded with bugs on your osdate site...

I don't know of any sites for flashchat support. I have used 6.08 for years and don't have any problems with it.

Well I know I can not even install  as a stand alone chat cause it will not support my web hosts updated mysql and php, unless you know of a updated version the will work or some patches that will update it to work with the current mysql and php we have today...

My download at http://*******/downloads/category/104-flashchat works on the latest php version 5.5.14

Note: the download is a complete chat folder with 6.0.8 included in it. Delete your entire chat folder contents and install the files from the download and then run the installer.

I just did a install on a template I'm working on with server php 5.5 and it worked as seen in the attachment.

I'm new to the forum, and while I"m not using osDate, I'm wondering if it will help me with an issue I am having with my 6.0.8 flash chat. It installs fine as far as I can tell but when I get more then a few users registered one of two things happen.

One the users can log in, and it show cases their name at the top left side but their user name as far as the chat goes on screen is not there, or two when ever someone logs in it shows them as an Admin and creates another admin log in the admin panel, but still showcases their own user name in the top left. Has anyone else had this issue, or am I the only one? Is there a fix, or will OsDate help me fix it?

I'd like to re open my site today or as soon as I'm able but I need help.

Sorry man I have been away for a bit. I have not seen this issue before but the first thing that I would do is drop all of the fc tables in the database and try a fresh install.

Its fine, i was given something that helped with the log ins, but now I seem to have an issue where I can not extend the characters held. Currently my chat will only go up to 256 characters (with spaces) which is roughly 48 words..I need more words, plus I have discovered that the profile section doesn't hold information.. Is there anything that will fix these two issues or do I have to do yet another fresh install?
