Search in osDate v2
« on: January 20, 2013, 01:16:47 PM »
osDate v2 introduces more advanced searching. The users can search for anything.

Man searching for Man, Woman searching for Woman, search for any username, search all between any age range, etc.

By default, system will do a cross matching of likes i.e. the searched profile's search preferences. Some members may be looking for women only. Hence, the search results will see if the searched profile also look for the searching profile's Gender or not. i.e. if Man is searching for all, the resulting profile also should be looking for man. This will create issues with the above search criteria.

To avoid this, in Global settings, there is an option to Bypass user look gender matching in searches?. Leave this to 'Y' which is default.

You can do searches on many profile preferences also.
You can save your searches for future recalls and quick searches. Blog searches are also available.

Depends on what you trying to achieve. If a man is looking for men and women my guess is that he is interested in meeting man and women who want to meet a man and not a man who is only interested in woman. You get a lot of hits in your search who won't be interested at all.
