Create/Manage templates
« on: January 20, 2013, 01:17:18 PM »
You should manage your template in the following way.

a). Create your own skin folder in the /templates folder (Example /templates/myskin/) - (myskin being the name of the template).
b). Copy the default.css file from /templates/default/ and make modifications as needed. (Example copy /templates/default/default.css and put in /templates/myskin/).
c). Copy the images folder from /templates/default/ and make modifications as needed. (Example. copy /templates/default/images/ and put in /templates/myskin/)
d). Copy only the .tpl files, you want to change and make modifications as needed. Don't copy all the files from the /templates/default/ folder.

When you upgrade, you just have to compare these modified .tpl files with files in default folder and make necessary changes, if any.
