Reinstalling issue
« on: February 12, 2013, 08:32:09 PM »
I am trying to reinstall an OsDate site I worked on a different host and I keep getting stuck in the installation process. It doesn't allow me to change the hosting and keeps reinserting the old values.

How can I get this fixed?

and keeps reinserting the old values.

witch values you mean?
Maybe first cleanup your config file witch probably contains still your old site values?

I'll try finding this config file, in what folder is it located?

The DB Host has been modified and I need to change its value but when I click "continue" it puts back the old value.

2.6...I found the config file, I am trying to get the site back the way I had it, getting errors, playing now with the files and folders so we shall see where this gets me. I just hope I don't have to restart it all.

I have a backup of the folder I had in my other host I am trying to overwriting the new setup with it on the new host.

Hello T_Tronix,

I would do a new full install into a sub domain using new fresh database so you don't mix it up with the your saved database.
This way you will see the difference in the config file and see if there is any errors anywhere.
You can also find or compare the config files and database files.

Like looking in the osdate_glblsettings tables to make sure they are the same.
It's also possible, that some files have corrupted in the upload, upload a fresh copy

I had to do this myself, when I changed hosting and the settings on both Hosts were very different.

I hope these suggestions help.

If you use a new version of Php (i think >5.3), then change init.php to:

Code: [Select]
line 205 = $t = new osDate_Smarty;

line 527 = $blog = new Blog();

line 689 = $mod = new modOsDate();

Maybe you get the same error at the admin panel, i think i had changed this at 3 files.

Osdate 2.6
PHP 5.4.21
MsSQL 5.1.72

Yes that worked, I haven't seen this issue in Admin...

Now I have another problem, the capcha in the signup page (the security image) never works always says whatever is typed in does not match the image. Also my dreamweaver states that there is a syntax code error on line 16 of signup.tpl

Code: [Select]
16 {if $recaptcha_response == false}
17 CheckFieldString("noblank",form.recaptcha_response_field,"{lang mkey='errormsgs' skey='120'}");
18 {/if}

Also noticed at the bottom of the signup page a message shows up:
Input error: Invalid referer
