No Admin Login Page - 404 Error
« on: February 07, 2013, 07:41:12 AM »
Hi,

I have just installed osDate v2.5.4 and everything appears to have gone successfully. However, I have no access to the admin page. Whenever I go to www.mywebstie.co.uk/admin or www.mywebsite.co.uk/public_html/admin I get a 404 error.

Has anyone else had this problem? What can I do to solve this issue?

Thanks

That's odd. When I click the link I see the page in the attachment. If you can't see the page does that mean my site is not online? How do I make it online?

I haven't changed the name of the admin folder. Is that a necessary step?

As far as I know the admin folder is still called admin. Where is the admin folder located?

Hello JusteP,

In the admin folder open and edit the .htaccess

Find this:
# If osdate is in a subdirectory, set to /subdirectory/
RewriteBase /admin/

Change it to

RewriteBase /public_html/admin/

This should work, please let me know?

I found two .htaccess files. One in the public_html folder and one in the SEF_URLs subfolder, but none in an 'admin' folder. In fact, there are no admin folders in the pbulic_html folder at all, only in subfolders (templates, plugins etc). Could I be missing some files?

Hi JusteP,

Yes it's sounds like you have files and folders missing.

That's what I was beginning to suspect. I downloaded osDate from http://www.tufat.com/script39.htm, as I thought that was the official site and therefore the best place to get the software. Is there anywhere I can get a complete download from? Or do you know where I can get the missing files/folders?
