Members Email "You have a new message" has No Website Link
« on: February 09, 2015, 03:10:25 AM »
I noticed that the email received by a Member informing them of a Message looked like this:

Please visit WEBSITE to reply to this message.

Yet in the lang_main.php it had a website link, So the website link was not displaying in the email,

In my lang_main.php it is on line 1934

It was:

Please visit <a href=\"#link#\">SITENAME</a> to reply to this message.

That is for a html reply, but this is a text reply,

So I changed the line 1934 to:

Please visit #SiteUrl# SITENAME to reply to this message.

Tested it with some Messages to create Member emails, and yes now the site link is displayed in the Email.

Hi Burton,

Don't really know why you changed that, if you have your site setup to send html emails, it will send
the correct link ( URL ) as shown below.

It's Not a bug and it is not a error either.
Seems your first test was in TEXT Emails Not HTML Emails

If it works for you, well done

Hi Phil,

Yes I am using/sending Text Emails, and it did not include the link, because it had HTML within the text code,

I have noticed with other site messages there are 2 versions, text, and html.

Quote
$lang['message_received']['text'] = "Dear #FirstName#,

You have received a message from SITENAME user '#SenderName#'.

Please visit <a href=\"#link#\">SITENAME</a> to reply to this message.

Good Luck!
#AdminName#
SITENAME";

thank you Phil :)

Hi Burton,

If you change it to back HTML the links will always work :)

This system is setup to send both for those people that can't always send html
