lookgender - Re: Advanced Compatibility Questionnaire plugin
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:07:54 AM »
I need help with a short piece of code that would use 'lookgender' or an equivalent thereof - to display results that correspond to what the logged-in/authenticated user has selected in their preferences for the Gender they're looking for.
- it's the Advanced Compatibility Questionnaire plugin
- by default, it returns matching users of all genders right now
- I found a spot inside the advcompQuest.php file, where we can potentially specify 'lookgender' results but don't know how to code it properly and what variables (if any) to define at the start of the code
- here's the directory where the file is located: ...\plugins\advcompQuest\libs
- here's the section inside the file I discovered where we could possibly add a line of code to force a display of 'lookgender' results: * Display Match Results
- maybe, even some sort of IF/ELSE statement or something like that inside the array there: $matchingusers=array();

Please, help. I don't have a tech. background and have been struggling with this seemingly basic stuff for months. Trial and error  :-[

I tried to borrow some code from userstats.php (which is in the main public_html directory) but to no particular avail. And I also looked at the past topic entitled: "Display Gender only", where Pharg resolved a similar issue. But I'm missing fundamental programming concepts to be able to extrapolate a solution.

Many thanks!

Niceberg

Hi Niceberg,

Not sure what and how this will work sorry, the advanced search has options to select more detailed searching though.
Maybe someone can do it with that option.
