Nevermind found it, also checked the demo, not sure how the password works and if this code is open for modifications, several things I would change. I am currently trying this out on my own but if things don't go anywhere then I might just donate to this guy :)

At my page it works very well.
It's possible to change the code if you want.
And Marcam has an open ear for any ideas, so talk with him.
He's a nice and coorperate guy.

I have this idea but not sure if its even possible with the Facebook api.

Can I add "document.write(geoip_country_name())" from "<script src="http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js"></script>" under

<fb:registration
fields="[
{'name':'name'},
{'name':'email'},
{'name':'location'},
{'name':'Country', HERE};

I can get the Country based on geoip:

Code: [Select]
<script src="http://j.maxmind.com/app/geoip.js"></script>
<script language="JavaScript">document.write(geoip_country_name());</script>

But I can't take that variable and plug it into the Facebook api:

Code: [Select]
<fb:registration
fields="[
 {'name':'name'},
 {'name':'email'},
 {'name':'location'},
{'name':'Country','description':'Country','type':'typeahead', 'categories':['country']},
 {'name':'birthday'},
 {'name':'lookingfor',    'description':'looking for a',             'type':'select',    'options':{'woman':'Woman','man':'Man'}},
 {'name':'zipcode',      'description':'Zip / Postal code',             'type':'text'},
 {'name':'gender'},
 {'name':'username',      'description':'Username',             'type':'text'},
 {'name':'password'},
 {'name':'onlinestat',      'description':'Other members can see me online?',              'type':'select',    'options':{'yes':'Yes','no':'No'}, 'default':'yes'},
 {'name':'accept',       'description':'I have read and accept the Terms of Service',  'type':'select',    'options':{'yes':'Yes','no':'No'}, 'default':'no'},
 {'name':'captcha'}
]"
redirect-uri="http://demolab.info/OSD/saveFacebook.php"
width="980px">
</fb:registration>

might be better to ask for the country from the facebook connect api, and then compare the data that you get from the maxmind site....

i delete users that say they are USA, and maxmind says that they are from another continent ...

Based on IP you never can be sure if it is correct. Especialy in with what is provided in Osdate. Based on these principles I live in Netherlands, Germany or Denmark. Only 5 mile difference in accessing the page.
Kind regards,

Jan Oppeneer
working on template for 2.6 and OsdatePDO

My sites under construction:

www.oudere-homo-mannen.com
www.homosenioren.com
www.hotdatingplanet.eu

Will be testing for Osdater.

Oppeneer

i see your point....

in the USA here so it is easier to discriminate (<--- in the logical sense)   between country ips..

Maybe could do with updating the MaxMind (I think that is who Vijay used) country database file.
But the problem is with IPv4 IP addresses nearly running out, places are going to sell them to other places.

So that database will never be fully correct.

I got the mod from this site: http://www.osdate-francais.com/stores/_catalog/addons_-_mods/_facebook_connect_mods_version_1.2_for_osdate__2.5.4

I purchased it a while back for my site. It was working well until lately where I noticed you need to click on the facebook connect button twice before it allows you to login.

When you click the first time on the button it connects to facebook and fills the login username and password fields but does not log the user into the site.
When you click the second time it logs you in.

What could be the issue?

Found another glitch with that code, when I try to log in with a different facebook user I get some kind of code right under the button.
